Why Your Social Media Game Needs a Reality Check – What Enzo Fernandez Taught Us

Writer's picture: Charles UmehCharles Umeh

What were the key things you learnt this week that you hope to use in the next week?

So it's clear the newest kind of learning in 2024/2025 is binging on quality content from social media and going out to have real conversations with humans. Taking time to listening irrespective of how much you have acquired with regards to knowledge and then making time for it's application is priceless practice. lets make this a regular in our routine.

So you need to be living under a rock not to understand that what you do consume and put out in this space counts.

We are all taking you seriously it's you that isn't.

Enzo Fernandez the Argentine football player whose video would not have mattered to any of us if we didn't have social media, gave us another reason to reevaluate what we choose to share with the world when a shared video on his page was spotted.

That singular act of showing a moment that didn't concern us on his platform became all of our business.

To state the obvious, there are rules of engagement when you have a social media account and are in this present generation's workplace.

Enzo like all of us lives in an era where the virtual world counts and is either a social capital that elevates you or one where your actions affect your currency capital outside the virtual world.

If you really wish to grow beyond the noise, the first rule of engagement in this era is to live up to your hype. living up to your hype means taking responsibility when your actions are called out. There are rules of engagement for the virtual world and all of us as stakeholders keep writing them with our actions.

We shot a new series for intrapreneurs and entrepreneurs in the new workplace and the goal is to add to what you feed your mind with you should check us out...https://youtu.be/TVc-BAC2v-w?si=MjLkIYciYoA_cW8Y

Genz lingua.

I learnt some genz words too you should update your vocabulary with.

When i drafted a lengthy deliverable to my Genz art director and he simply responded with a short phrase 'it's not giving' i was taken aback as to what this meant until i figured out i was already getting "salty" then i read the message again and it got clearer.

As if he read my mind he responded with a broader explanation as to why the director I explained in the deliverable "wasn't giving" he had tried my suggestion and in his own words it didn't "pass the vibes check" so i smiled at myself for updating my Genz lingua

Not Giving: Not feeling it

Vibes check: Good energy

Salty: Angry
